Færøyene Day 2

Another day with 25-30kts winds and rain = Stay put in harbour = Atli showed me more of his native islands!

First - after numerous tunnels - Konoy, where Atli's colleague Påll Gunhard, wife Simona and mother Elisabeth Sofiđa displayed true Faroe hospitality serving excellent coffee and cakes.

Elisabeth Sofiđa's house also has a 200 year old mill - still in full working order! Påll Gunhard showed us the wonder in action.

 

Next stop was Viđareid - one of the northernmost towns on the norhtermost island Viđoy where Elisabeth served one of Færøyenes specialty: Lomvi!

The Faroe Islands has been a remarkable stop. The people of these islands are the most friendly, helpful and welcoming I have ever met. Fantastic hospitality.
