Battle Harbour is an old fishing community that thrived a 100 years ago - then - as the Newfoundland Cod in the 1970's and 1980's was totally overfished and eventually gone - Battle Harbour was deserted. In the early 2000s however, Canada started the big repopulation of old Labrador fishing towns, and Battle Harbour is today a living museum of what was - but maybe never will be again.
